Black & White

There’s nothing more classic than black and white. I like to keep the outfit pretty simple and add pops of color, either on my lips or with accessories. This season, I’m really feeling magentas and violets for lip color and bright hues of blue and turquoise for accessories.

It was a beautiful, hot day in San Francisco so I decided to slip on this black and white printed skater dress that I picked up while thrift shopping. The geometric print is what caught my eye. The dress has an adorable criss-cross cutout in the back (I’m wearing a black bandeau underneath) and the skater style cut of the dress is the most flattering cut for my shape. I have a slight hourglass shape so I like to wear styles cut at my natural waist and isn’t too fitting on my bottom half to accentuate my curves.

Here, I paired it with Clarks Artisan Caslynn Cheryl black leather wedges (I bought these for the style but they ended up being SUPER comfy, yay for happy feet!) and a sweet little gift from my mom – a Landmark Colorblock Hartland leather satchel. Other accessories include Quay sunnies, Saber Tooth Kitty ring3D Metal Square bangleChainmail Fringe earrings, and a geometric double layered necklace.

On my lips, I’m wearing Too Faced liner in Perfect Berry and Too Faced Melted Violet liquid lipstick. Whenever I wear a bold or dark lip color, I like to outline and fill my entire lip with lipliner then add the lip color over it. This helps give your lipcolor staying power and can also give your lipcolor a slightly different tone, depending on the color of liner you choose. Perfect Berry is a lot darker and has more red than Melted Violet. I was in the mood for a darker tone this day.

P.S. If you clicked on some of the accessory links above, you might have stumbled upon my new shop! Take a look around and let me know what you think. xoxo
