70s Chic

Have been a fan of the 70s era and I’m happy to see it trending again this spring – from bell bottoms to denim to oversized hats and glasses. I love looking through family photo albums for inspiration because my mother’s style was so on point.

Check out some of my favorites from her closet.

Left to Right: Mama Bear in a yellow halter and yellow high-waisted pants, printed dress, and spaghetti strap dress in a favorite color combo of mine; in her different printed bell bottoms and groovy hairdo; in her denim bell bottoms, clogs, and tank – pictured here with my two sisters; and in bucket hat, oversized sunnies, platform sandals, and high-waisted dark denim.

There are pieces of hers from the 70s that I keep in my closet today like this striped spaghetti strap tank. Red and blue is a favorite color combination and I knew it was going to be mine the minute I saw it.

Here, I paired it with wide leg trousers. I always keep wide leg trousers in my closet as I feel that they have a classic look that never goes out of style. I picked up these Merona trousers from Target a few years ago.

Accessories include second hand Madewell Andie sandals from Wasteland, red leather clutch from my mother’s closet, a skinny no brand tan belt, wooden and bamboo bangles, and rings from Field Day in Oakland.

On my lips, I’m wearing MAC pro longwear lip liner in Kiss Me Quick and MAC lipstick in Viva Glam I.
