I recently attended a wedding party in American Canyon, CA at the end of April. I couldn’t decide on what to wear as weather and uneven terrain were to be considered. Luckily, the celebrants were very good at updating their guests on the weather and making us aware that heels may not be appropriate for the outdoor event. All I knew was that I’d be wearing wedges and dressing for colder weather.
About a year ago, I took a trip to Goodwill and found a paisley jumpsuit in the clearance section. The paisley pattern and color combination (red and blue, which I am a little obsessed with!) caught my attention so I picked it up and tried it on. It was about 6 sizes too big but being that it was about $5.00, I bought it thinking that I would just tailor it to my size later. I went against the care instructions of “Dry Clean Only” and washed it in a cold, gentle cycle and drying it on low. It definitely shrank about 4 sizes, which worked out in my favor! So I put it away for a very long time and didn’t have anywhere to wear it to. It popped into my head again just a few weeks before the wedding so I finally made time to alter it and make it truly mine.
Here I am wearing my Goodwill paisley jumpsuit, belted, with my Gee WaWa wedges, and crochet earrings I made. My spectacles were picked up at a vintage store a few years back. I just got my prescription put in them. I couldn’t picture this outfit with my hair down so I did a top knot and put my bangs away. My mustard quilted clutch was a birthday gift that also comes with a gold tone metal shoulder strap. For when the sun set, I brought my camel UK Style by French Connection cape, which I got on clearance also for $10. What?!
